About The Event

Founded by Lindsey L. Miller, LLMoves is a NYC-based company focused on integrating dance with fashion, film, photography, visual arts, technology, and music in unique collaborations. The company’s mission is to keep dance alive and growing in our society by evolving with the current times. To keep dance a relevant part of our culture, LLMoves strives to expand its presence beyond the traditional performance settings and combining forces with other forms of art to reach a wider audience. Performance and film works from LLMoves have been featured in various dance and film festivals, including Cucalorus Film Festival, LA CineFest, winner of PBS’ channel THIRTEEN short film contest REEL13, American Dance Guild Festival, ADF’s Movies by Movers Festival, and at venues such as Dixon Place, Actors Fund Arts Center, WestFest All Over at Westbeth Artist Community, The Tank, and Ailey Citygroup Theatre. Recently, LLMoves was invited to perform at the United Nations in NYC for World Oceans Day.

About the work - Plastic Ocean:

Plastic Ocean is a 15 minute choreographic work that sheds light on the plastic epidemic happening in our ocean today. With a cast of five dancers moving within a field of plastic trash, we hope to raise awareness through art that something must be done to stop and undo the damage we have caused by our excessive wastefulness.
