About The Event

1. In "Room With the View" by Veronika Georgieva we never see the view but rather viewers: the man and his pregnant wife are looking out of window while their room itself, prepared for the upcoming baby, is filling up with the View / Memories / Hopes & Fears, producing unsettling feeling of a Hitchcockian suspense.

Veronika Georgieva holds a master degree in Architecture from Moscow Architectural University. Her video installations & photographic works explore the connection between present and absent, in relation to the way our memory works: with its’ fragmentation and thresholds between forgotten and brought back to life yet disfigured. Georgieva’s Paper Surgery Series is successfully exposed worldwide due to the collaboration with fashion label Comme des Garçons for their advertising campaign. The artist’s project for 25- anniversary campaign for Reporters Without Borders was shortlisted for Cannes Golden Lion. Georgieva exhibited throughout the world in numerous exhibitions, included Drawing Center/New York, MoMA/New York, Ljubljana Contemporary Art Museum, Exploratorium Museum of Art and Science/San-Francisco, Gogol Museum/Moscow, Berlin State Museum / Germany , Moscow Biennale, parallel program to 14th Venice Architectural Biennale, Arnhem Mode Biennale. Georgieva’s works are included in museum & private collections in North America, Europe, Australia & Russia.

2. “Codependent Drawings” work by Shura Skaya, speaks of certain impossibility. This is a series of drawings that depend on each other, each picking up motifs from the previous and then going its own way. Music involves abstraction and mutability, and time reigns. Here the conventionally frozen, drawn form melts into music without sound.

Shura Chernozatonskaya (AKA Skaya) is a multi media artist. She has studied classical music, then painting, and now combines the two, while also making films and performances. Chernozatonskaya has exhibited internationally. Her solo shows include, among others, the “Signals” in the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn (2012) and G.R.O.U.N.D (2016, 2018), Open Gallery (2015), Roza Azora Gallery (2011, 2016), in Moscow. She has been living and working in New York since 2000.
